Impressions of the centenary charter! |
Maintaining your list membershipHi guys, a lot of you signed our mailing list to be kept in the picture about news and old stories coming up. That's great, but it seems, people forget about their membership that is of course spliced by their email. Our list is now some 8 years old. It naturally never was a terribly busy one, but we had a couple of messages each year. If one of these messages can't get delivered to a listed mailbox, it travels back to get count by the server. Reasons normally will be a stuffed mailbox that is not used anymore and now floods, or a cancelled account so the box does not exist anymore. Once a certain number of mails returned, the account will get disabled, after another while the email will automatically get deleted from the list. Some people tell me when changing their email, so I can change their entry in the mailing list. Some may not want the mails anymore or forget to notify me of the change of email - in fact, one of course can change the entry independantly. But it worries me if we loose people who may like to remain on the list but now accidentally fell off. So if you are aware of people who once were on the list and now think it died off, tell them we are alive! If you change your email and still want to get our news, let me know or change the settings yourself using the list main page. |
